"I thought I married Prince Charming. Turns out he was a monster." Grace cried in the rain.

Rain pounded the pavement as Grace ran barefoot through empty streets, her white dress torn and muddy. 

But things hadn’t always been like this. 

In fact, just two days earlier her life was perfect! 

Everyone said Grace was the luckiest girl alive.

The wedding was straight out of a magazine. Fairy lights everywhere, designer dress, five-tier cake. Michael looked like something out of a romance novel - tall, rich, gorgeous. The kind of man who made other women jealous just by existing.

He had courted her for a year before they got married, Grace thought this would be her dream life.

But as Grace stood there in her thousand-dollar dress, something felt wrong.

Michael's hand never left her body. Not once. When her friend Sarah tried to hug her, he smoothly blocked it.

"She's exhausted from all the planning," he said with that perfect smile.

Also, Grace noticed she barely knew half the guests. Michael had handled most of the invitations. "I wanted to surprise you," he'd said.

As they danced, he whispered in her ear: "You're mine now. Forever."

The words should have been romantic. Instead, they felt like a warning.

She thought she was living a fairytale. She had no idea she was walking into a cage."

After their wedding, they went on their week long honeymoon.

The resort in Greece was gorgeous. Private beach, champagne breakfast, everything perfect. Except Michael couldn't keep his hands off her.

At first, it felt amazing. What wife wouldn’t want her husband’s sensual attention?

But by day three, Grace was exhausted.

"Michael, can we just talk tonight? Maybe walk on the beach?"

He laughed. "We have forever to walk on beaches. Come here."

When she hesitated, his voice got softer. Meaner. "Don't you want me? After everything I've done for you?"

The guilt hit like a punch. He'd paid for this paradise, bought her expensive clothes, made her feel special. What kind of wife says no?
